Nick Armbrister

The Mission is a Pop Band – Varied Shorts by Nick Armbrister is a new short story collection. It features a wide variety of work and characters and topics. Stories cover raunchy goth gigs in England and Germany, a lady of the night plying her trade with different clients, and political dictators and how to stop them. Also here is a story about sport and does it matter? Ask ten people what they think. Then there is Karren the hit woman. Read about her journey. These and other work included here are all new . The volume finishes with an edited version of Nick's 2009 story Tattoo Me a Smile now called We Were Both Soldiers. A touching love story of a desperate situation.

“My brother is in a band called Drill Beat; they play goth metal and gig round about Tampere area,” Tarunna said. She drank the Miller beer Vance got her.

“They sound good. Do they have a website or page? I look forward to the main band here,” Vance replied over the music.

“Yes, they have a Facebook page, a Myspace account and are on Reverbnation. Check them out. Some songs are free downloads. I’m sure you’ll like them. I’ll get the beers. What do you want?” Tarunna got her purse out.

“I’ll have the same again. No, get me a Blond beer instead, one of the nine percent ones please.” Vance wanted to try as many of the different beers as possible. In a few minutes Tarunna got the drinks. Soon the main band would be on.

The DJ killed the music and smoke and green lasers filled air. People screamed and clapped. Nothing happened for a couple of minutes, the suspense was thrilling. More people went to the front of the stage and the venue was suddenly full. Vance and Tarunna stayed together by the front. The sound of an electric guitar cut the air followed by an accented female voice announcing: “Good evening. We are Bloodflowerz. Let’s rock!”

Tarunna looked at Vance and commented, “I love this band. I’ve seen them twice before.”

He nodded and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. She blushed but wasn’t annoyed. With a wink she kissed him back on his cheek. Am I in heaven? I’m on holiday in Berlin, at an underground gig seeing Bloodflowerz who are a top German goth band with an awesome singer. And I’ve met, well with, a lovely gothic lady from Finland. I love being nineteen...

Melissa liked to fuck and get paid for it. She never said no and fucked anything that moved: male, female, gay, bi, lady boy. All ages from underage to overage. She was open minded, skilled and keen. And good at what she did. Right now she was shagging a neighbour called Pete.

Pete was a big bloke with a 48 inch waist and a big chest and belly. He stood six foot two in his cotton socks and had a four inch cock, when hard. He did little baby thrusts and was doing so now, pumping away in Melissa’s pussy.

She went along with it, sighing, whimpering and calling his name. Pete thought he was in heaven. The only improvement would be if he had a bigger cock.

“Yeah, that’s right. Fuck me like that baby,” Melissa whispered, “it feels so damn good.”

“Yes my dear, feel my big cock. Enjoy me babe,” Pete replied, doing his job. In his minds’ eye he was a gifted with a twelve inch dick. Not four inches.

“I love fucking you,” the girl said, grinning. She moved with him as he pumped away but felt a little squashed; he was a big bloke.

“Mmm,” her lover moaned and shut his eyes.

Person Three: Allan, 73, retired, from Manchester. Does sport matter? What, any sport? Yes, it does. I’m from Manchester. Now there, many people love football. We have two teams, City and United. There’s a massive rivalry, not always good. But it’s a huge thing for the city. There are thousands of fans who see the games, millions who watch on TV or listen on the wireless. I’ve been a Blue, a City fan, since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. It was my dad who got me into football back in the 50s. It was sixpence in then and I remember it like yesterday. Our family are Blues that includes both my sons and our grandkids. Though one daughter is a Red, a Man United fan! That’s great on the match day derby. The atmosphere is awesome. And after the recent terror bombing in the city, both teams are as one. A City United. Yes, our clubs matter hugely, as does football in general. And sport too.
