The comatose woman was like a medium sized sack of potatoes. They carried her from the moped to a sealed secure sound proof room. Here she was placed on a new mattress on the floor. The men left and locked the door. The woman wasn’t cuffed or gagged. There was no need nor was there a need to rape her.

A very special fate awaited Formelkas. She was given the virus and would suffer a slow and interesting death. Her fate was the same as five point two billion people. Karma had a way of paying big debts back. A bright green pressurised metal bottle was visible behind the bullet proof laminated glass. It had a tap on it labelled Open and Closed.

Formelkas woke and sat upright in confusion. She rubbed her head and looked about. Upon seeing the people, she froze and realized where she was and why. One of the people waved and smiled. She knew him and said something and shook her head. Her words were silent. The man rubbed his hands and nodded.

Before, the two officers were ashore off the boat. They took their time to enjoy three days of shore leave by eating fine food, drinking fine beer and fucking fine women. It was a fine old time breaking up the monotony of the sea and eight hour watches. The fine time ended when they were robbed at gun point. Most of their valuables were left aboard the ship; they only had what cash was needed, cheap mobile phones and little else. That wasn’t enough for the twenty year old street tough. He discharged his medium calibre pistol into the Captain’s chest. He was killed instantly. The First Mate was spared because the hoodlum only had three bullets. All three were now inside the Captain.

He saw the cars and heard a distant yelp but never saw the accident. His eyes sought out the sound; he knew it was another dog in distress. Where?

It really hurt but not that much. Why didn't it hurt more? Luckily, it was only one car in the final lane not the middle of the road. Or he'd be squashed like a pancake. I want to sleep, he thought. It was so tempting. Nice silky blackness.

The spaniel barked three times. He wanted to get the other dog's attention so he could move to safety. However, the other dog was lying down and never moved. Was he dead or hurt? He barked again as loud as he could.

Before the hurt dog drifted into sleep he thought he heard barking. Is that another dog? No, it can't be. This is the busy Freeway, no dog would be here. They'd be killed. He closed his eyes and felt sleep come for him.
