Side of the Hill – Varied Poems...

Freeze Dried Human

The man had lost his canoe

It floated off down the river

He was stuck now

Up shit creek without a canoe or paddle

He thought about swimming the river

But it was a scary thought

Being so wide and long

If he did swim

Would he cross it?

Or go downstream?

An idle contemplation

He would wait for a floating log

And then hitch a ride

There as if by fate came a log!

He doggy paddled out to it

Getting aboard was tricky for it moved

Then he was on it and lay down

The river bank sped past

It was a swift current

Mother Nature aided his escape

Now the law men wouldn’t catch him

The freeze dried human was with him

Safely wrapped up in foil

It was protected in his lower pocked

Later on he would eat the human

After finding a place to hide up

Winter was coming and he needed time

Time till spring to rest and gain strength

Jail had weakened his body

But not his mind or determination

He was a criminal but innocent

Having been framed for another’s crime

Later he would have revenge

And freeze them all and eat them

Ah look there’s an island!

I think I will land there and hide

It was six months till spring

Then his revenge would be searing

He would enjoy the wait...

Purple Chair

Daddy sat in a purple chair to drink his whisky

It was his throne and he was mighty proud of it

Being the king to his own empire

An empire of one drunken man and his booze

And a purple chair made from plastic

Not to mention a red toilet

Straight from a 70s porn film

Perfect for the drunken man

King of his own world

Where he was boss

Of his chair and bottle

And toilet
