Flying Thing
The creatures that fly are many and varied
From annoying disease carrying mosquitoes
Soaring birds riding mountain thermals
Smaller than an ant and larger than a dog
Extinct three foot winged dragonflies
Along with birds as big as a Cessna plane
Replaced by human sized birds
And smaller insects to annoy and sting
All inhabit the sky and use wings to fly
The miracle of life and evolution
Easily surpassing in wonder
What walked on land or swam in the sea
Amazing and shocking us in equal measure
Dream Animal
What creatures do you dream of?
Are they strokable and friendly?
Or evil and sharp like the Devil?
With different colours to jolt and astound
Animals that can live on an asteroid
Animals that walk on the sea bed
Animals that can loop the loop
Animals that can speak six languages
Animals that communicate by thought
Animals that eyes that light up at night
Animals that that don’t need to eat
Animals that have alcohol for blood
Animals that change form before you
Animals that are our friends
Forcable
Canyon edge gonna get you long - way down!
Gully gulf ready to end your life - beware!
Valley steepness controls your behaviour - be responsible!
Ridgeline forces your respect - no party time!
Going to Church
I prefer to be on the mountain top
Even in the high wind and pouring rain
Just me there alone on the hill
Enjoying Mother Nature at her best
Maybe she will kill me by her power
Bad weather claiming another life
Or maybe I will survive endure and enjoy
Being in Her world just for a while
Atop the mountain in my church
Worshipping nature and all she does
The wind is her hymn and rain her wine
A black jagged rock face the altar
And the birds the crazy preacher
Singing their song above the wind
Here is where I belong
Far far from the town
And the population
Biscuit Dog
The Snapdragon Dog is so cute
She eats biscuits one piece at a time
Taking them off me one at once
Then she goes into the room to eat them
And comes back to me for another
Then goes to the room to eat it
This goes on several times
The loveable Snapdragon Dog
Who loves to eat biscuits
