Engine Number 7

Each engine has a number to identify it

Each engine has a crew to man it

Just like Engine 7 one of many

Each crew member has a number

Each item of equipment has a number

All is itemized and noted in a ledger

Organisation is key as is planning

Always have a plan for everything

And well trained motivated men

Ready for the next call

Off they go again

No Water

The water ran out

The fire kept burning

It would till the end

When all combustibles were gone

Exhausted and turned to ash

Including people and souls

Houses and possessions

All carbonized changed form

The water ran out

The pumps ran dry

The fire had a field day

The firemen lost this fight

The war wasn't over

It never would be

There was always the next fire

A further victory won

With lots of water

An ocean of it

Quench

Orange flames burned hot and high

They were hungry to burn

A feeding frenzy like a shark

Black acrid smoke coiled and roiled

The worst killer full of chemicals

More died by smoke inhalation

Than were burned to death

Which was the worse way to die?

Shall we ask the ghosts?

Was fire or smoke the worst killer

Both fire and smoke are killed by water

Water is life and saves life

Just like the firemen do

Water their most important tool

Just like hoses and fire beaters

And fire engines and protective uniform

Give them a million gallons

To kill a thousand lethal fires

This way the fireman is God

Power of life and death over fire

Saved Winners

The winners are lives saved

Fires put out property saved

Champion fire fighters

Top of the line never flinching

Being aware of fear using it

As a point of determination

To fight fire with fire

Put that bastard out!

Use the extinguishers or hose

Blow on the damn fire

If that would work

Or even use your hands

A fireman is always ready

Just like a cop always on duty

Ready no matter when or where

The winning attitude even when losing

A winner never loses

Not even to fire

Or risk of death
